I began training in earnest for the Chicago Marathon on June 15th this past summer. I had a good base built up prior to that, but June 15th marked the beginning of my 16 week training plan. This morning I logged the last of those training miles. I ran an easy 3 miles just to keep my legs loose this morning, bringing the total for this training cycle to just over 545 miles. I feel ready.
Breakfast this morning was a delicious piece of zucchini bread, made by my wife (thanks sweetie). It probably had about 200 calories and 40g of carbs.
I have a massage scheduled for tonight and then it’s off to Chicago tomorrow morning. I’m starting to get excited for the trip and a little nervous about the run. I feel like I had a good training cycle and I feel prepared for this race. The only thing left is to execute the plan.
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is 1 day and 23 hours away.
Good luck and enjoy every minute!!! I can’t wait to log all those miles of training for chicago again next year! I’m jealous!
