I went out this morning and ran a very easy 4.5 miles with Dan and Pat. The run was fine, although the humidity is still back with a vengeance. This is the last spate of decent weather we will have before things turn ugly with Hurricane Irene joining us for the weekend.
I have a very early 10 mile run on the schedule for tomorrow as I am supposed to play some golf for a bachelor party in the late morning. We’ll see if the weather holds up or not. The other alternative is to run 10 this afternoon/evening. I feel like it’s going to be rough either way, but I want to try to get back onto the schedule where Sunday is my off day.
I’ve been drinking some shakes for breakfast after my runs recently and they have been working pretty well. I usually use 1 frozen banana, a cup of soy milk, a scoop of protein powder, and then some frozen berries. It gives you some good protein and isn’t super high on calories at around 280 – 320 calories.
